Restaurant Scene
The Okanagan and Shuswap region doesn't really have a "restaurant scene," since it lacks both the
population base and the pretention of a larger city. Each city, though, has a
nucleus of its farourite, and often time-tested establishments.
In Kelowna, you'll find many of the restaurants downtown within a block of
Bernard Street, the main drag, and many of the popular ones closer to the
waterfront (where they benefit from the tourist traffic).
In Penticton, most of the downtown restaurants are on Main Street, close to
Okanagan Lake (where many of the hotels are), though the popular chain
restaurants are on Main south of Duncan.
You'll find that our "top five" lists will give you a number of good ideas
where you may want to dine, even if some of the suggestions are a bit out of
the way!
