If you drive, where to park is always an issue. Outside the downtown core parking is generally plentiful. Outside the downtown cores, parking is generally plentiful.

On-Street Parking

Do not attempt to park in a tour bus loading zone, within 5 metres (yards) of a fire hydrant, alley, driveway, or intersection. You WILL be ticketed. Be sure to have a roll of loonies ($1 coins) and quarters on hand to pay for the empty metre you find.

In Vernon, most of the metres along Main Street, and within a block, are designated 1 hour, with further way street parking designated 2 hour parking. Ther are exceptions: some areas are 30 minute parking, and some allow 4/5 hour parking. Ther is a parkade at 31st Ave and 33rd Street (50 cents per hour), and at City Hall on 30th Street at 34th Ave (25 cents per hour). Recreational vehicles (RVs) must park at the CPR Parking lot at Main Street and 28th Street (35 cents per hour).
