Naramata Winery View

Naramata is a small community (1,700 residents) surrounded by productive agricultural hillside lands overlooking Lake Okanagan. It is located just off a winding road about a half hour northeast of Penticton, dotted with many vineyards and wineries. The employment in Naramata is spread between retail, accommodation & food service, health care services, and manufacturing, with relatively small employment in public services (administration, education) and construction.

Naramata has an elementary school up to grade 5, while older students attend in nearby Penticton.

Naramata has a quaint shopping district, with Penticton about a half hour's drive away for more complete shopping including malls, major chains, and department stores. Naramata Road-View West To Orchards Summerland Mountain and Okanagan Lake

There are beaches along Lake Okanagan (Manitou Park on the southside of town), and the town has recreation trail apart of the Kettle Valley Railway Trail, which follows the abandoned route of the 1914 railway line, including features like the McCulloch Trestle and the Little Tunnel. For live entertainment, visit the Naramata Heritage Inn or Naramata Pub.

The community is mostly single family homes and rural acreages, with 80% being owner occupied. About 30% of homes were built between 1945 and 1970, 30% were built in the 1970s and 80s, and the balance were built in the past 20 years.
